DAY TWENTY SEVEN 2-22-11 (MUNSTER)
Last day of tour!! Tonight’s show was at a skate park slash venue. We have a few of these kinds of venues in the states and I have always loved the vibe when you connect music with skating. Mike, Tristan (Bayside’s Merch guy), and I all decided to crowd surf during ADTR’s cover of No Cigar by Millencolin! It was so rad haha! After the show our bus driver was being a dick and...
DAY TWENTY SIX 2-21-11 (BERLIN DAY OFF)
Since most of us didn’t go to sleep till about 6am, we spent most of the day sleeping in our hotel beds. We all went bowling later with ADTR but that was about the extent of our experience in Berlin. I spent most of the night relaxing and watching movies on my laptop. Movin on to Munster!
DAY TWENTY FIVE 2-20-11 (BERLIN)
We woke up this morning to our tour manager Chris telling us that the brakes on the bus are broken and we need to get in some cabs and make our way to the venue. Not the best start to the day. We made it to the venue in an hour and loaded in our gear with no problems. The bus company bought us 4 hotel rooms across the street from the venue which rules! This venue is enormous and the show was a...
DAY TWENTY FOUR 2-19-11 (HAMBURG)
As I walked around the city this morning I quickly realized that we are in the middle of the sex capitol of Europe. Every street is filled with either strip clubs or sex shops, it’s insane! The show was another win for Germany and we couldn’t wait to hit the town and see some weird stuff. As we were walking around the downtown area we noticed that there were a bunch of girls wearing...
DAY TWENTY THREE 2-18-11 (COLOGNE)
The only thing that really mattered about today was that after yet another awesome show in Germany, the venue turned into a huge goth party and we all danced to dark techno music all night till bus call. Greatest night ever haha! The best thing about this is that Germany is pretty much the birthplace of goth, so these people were very serious about their lifestyle and their partying. It was...
DAY TWENTY TWO 2-17-11 (STUTTGART)
This venue is huge! It’s set up really cool so that the green room and catering upstairs overlooks the stage and the crowd so that we can watch all of the bands from our dressing rooms. Stuttgart really brought it tonight and the show was incredible. It’s so nice when people move around and sing, even though it’s our first time in their country. My voice is starting to feel...
DAY TWENTY ONE 2-16-11 (MUNCHEN)
First day in Germany! I’m pretty sure we have a world class chef doing our catering today because the food is insane here! He just keeps making more and more stuff all day and we cant stop eating! Not much to do around here other than wait around to play. It’s gonna be cold for all of Germany so I don’t think we’ll be walking around much. I’m not talking at all...
DAY TWENTY 2-15-11 (ZURICH)
This morning Johnny and I went for a walk and explored downtown Zurich. Johnny bought an authentic Swiss Swatch and I took a few photos of the insane amounts of clocks and clock towers around here haha. My voice has been giving me trouble lately so I’ve been trying to take care of it. I think it’s just getting worn out from so many shows. I made it through the set ok but I’m...
DAY NINETEEN 2-14-11 (CESENA)
I woke up today and looked out the suicide window, which is basically the loft area above the driver that looks like you’re gonna take your head off at every bridge and tunnel, and found myself in a small town looking city in Italy. The venue had a grocery store next to it and that was about it. I’m kind of bummed that we are in such a secluded area because we can’t explore. I...
DAY EIGHTEEN 2-13-11 (BARCELONA DAY OFF)
Didn’t get much sleep last night because we were partying late with the bands and friends we made at the bar. I spent most of the day wandering aimlessly around the city and managed to stumble upon Ramblas Street, which is a very famous area around here. It’s mostly tourists but it was pretty cool. I really wanted to go see Gaudi’s church and all of his work but I was so tired...
